Introduction
Dear Reader,
We owe our success to you.
A long time ago Steve had some
ideas for improving broadcast
telephones, and Frank had an
idea for improving processing.
After awhile, they decided to join
forces to make interesting gear
together. You liked and bought
enough of our products that we
turned into a serious company
with a big R&D lab, accountants,
support guys - the works. Then you
gave us great new ideas, and
made suggestions that turned into
more cool stuff to make broadcast
technology better. You will see the
result in the following pages.
From the bottom of our transmitter
cavities, we thank you. And we
look forward to sharing more great
ideas.
Sincerely,
The Telos - Omnia Team

Omnia-6: Wasn’t Born To Follow
The world’s hottest on-air audio machine. The choice of get-it radio people at the very best majormarket
stations - 4 of the top 5 in NY, 2 of the top 3 in LA, and 5 of the 6 most listened-to stations in
the USA win with Omnia. Leading internatinal stations agree: It’s on all the BBC’s FM stations in the
UK, and #1 stations in Canada, Ireland, Germany, Finland, Australia, France, Denmark, and Sweden.
96 kHz sampling/24 bit resolution, five band AGC and six band limiting make it loud, clean, and
smooth. Special enhancement tools let you dominate the dial with PD-pleasing bass punch.
With Omnia-6, you lead - others follow.

Power, Under Your Control
www.omniaaudio.com
Omnia has what it takes to let you get what you
want. Two LCD screens - one for meters and the
other for controls - so that you can always know
what is happening under the covers as you make
your entries.

Omnia-4.5: Digital Dynamite
Omnia-3: Million-Dollar Sound

www.omniaaudio.com
Yeah, we know, Omnia is known for FM - but you gotta try this AM box! Who
knew AM could sound this good? All new and starting to be discovered by bigtime
AMs who need maximum crankage. Remarkably clean, given the amazing
punch. Includes NRSC low-pass filtering plus selectable narrow-band filters for
news/talk formats and international requirements.
Ready to make your competitors cry? Omnia-4.5fm features the same 96 kHz/24bit
structure as Omnia 6, stereo and bass enhancement features, a five-band
limiter and smooth, precise AGC. All the power you need to craft your signature
sound - and crush your competition.
Three of the four highest billing stations in the U.S. use Omnia because only
Omnia delivers the loudness, clarity and punch demanding broadcasters need
to grab and hold their audience. Get the famous Omnia sound in a compact
package. Omnia-3fm features 48 kHz sampling, near theoretically perfect alldigital
stereo generator, three-band processing and an integrated composite
clipper for compelling competitive loudness.
AM broadcasters get the DSP processing power they need. Four-bands in mono
or stereo, a comprehensive filter set, and - like all Omnia processors - a flexible
PC-Card based software architecture that let’s you move presets from unit to
unit, and readily enables field upgrade.
The Omnia designed to make the best of the Internet, Omnia-3net incorporates
special processing algorithms that bring smooth consistency to the desktop
listening environment. Designed in partnership with the audio coding experts at
Telos to optimize quality and spectral balance for even low bitrate streams.

Omnia ToolVox
The first mic processor of its kind, crafted by the Omnia team to be a perfect complement to on-air
signal chains. Phase rotator smooths voices by keeping asymmetric peaks out of subsequent clipping
- and lets you switch off this function in the air processor, preserving music transients. Unique
FFT-based de-esser not found in generic processors effectively controls sibilants so the air processor
doesn’t chew them up. Top-of-class TrueVerb® reverb from Waves warms and widens, creating appealing
ambience. Full set of tools for dynamics and EQ.
PC remote control via Ethernet lets you create presets optimized for each talent’s voice characteristics.
Supports 100 presets, which may be selected either via Ethernet or with the jogwheel and
LCD.
Omnia.sg
The high-performance Omnia digital stereo generator in a stand-alone box. Lets you keep the on-air
processor at the studio, where it’s convenient, while doing the stereo generation and composite
clipping at the transmitter for maximum loudness and perfect control. Includes baseband
protection filter for RDS and SCA frequencies.

New! Omnia A/X
But, in order to be effective, the processor must
take into account the nature of the bit allocation
procedure within the encoder. Omnia A/X’s designers
worked together with the codec experts at Telos to
ensure maximum benefit when the two processes are
combined.
Running native on Windows PCs, the A/X may be
combined with a streaming encoder on a single
machine. Because it takes only about 20% of a 700
MHz Pentium III, multiple copies are possible, along
with the companion encoders. Because it looks like a
sound card to the computer, it is compatible with most
applications that use the wavin/out driver interface.
Excellent for audio-for-video, as well as for audio-only
streaming. Use it with ready-made presets or tune your
own. Omnia A/X is a low-cost and efficient way to
advance the quality of your webcasts.
www.omniaaudio.com
The power of Omnia on a PC. Works seamlessly
with Windows Media, Real, and MP3 streaming
encoders to bring clean, balanced audio to the
Internet.
Low bitrate encoders pose unique challenges
to audio processors. Encoders must allocate bits
according to the dynamic spectral characteristics
of the program audio. By controlling dynamics and
spectral balance, a processor placed in the signal
chain ahead of the encoder can work wonders to
create consistency, enhance clarity, and remove
some of the often-present low bitrate ‘fuzz’.

System 2101: The Multi-Studio Solution
Multiple studios? Shared lines? No problem. System 2101 plugs directly
into the digital telephone network - ISDN, T1, or E1 lines - to
share up to 120 call channels across as many as 32 studios.

With today’s multi-station studio clusters and network facilities,
control and distribution of broadcast phone lines is more
important than ever. 12, 14, 20 studios… all of them with unique
operational needs and on-air configurations.
The System 2101 is the world’s only broadcast phone system
specifically designed to meet these modern challenges.
Connects to digital phone lines and lets you share and
intelligently route up to 120 lines to multiple studios.
Your telephone segments will enjoy unprecedented caller clarity
thanks to sophisticated Digital Signal Processing algorithms and
TWOx12: Smooth, Fast, Easy
Digital or analog? The choice is yours. TWOx12 is the world’s only
broadcast telephone system that works with digital or analog
Telco lines - or a combination of both.

Desktop Directors with Status Symbol icons make deciphering
blinking lamps history. These unique, high visibility icons clearly
inform talent and producers of line and caller status.
The 2x12 sounds great, works with modern Telco lines, allows
remote production via IP networks, and makes for contented
talent and producers. And it comes with an important feature
you can’t see in the photos: full support from the broadcast
telephone experts at Telos.
www.telos-systems.com
Two high-performance digital hybrids with automatic gain control
and equalization give remarkable clarity and consistency.
Versions for ISDN and analog Telco lines, with ISDN offering digital
four-wire connection for superior nulling performance. Special
functions cancel feedback in open speaker applications.
Smooth, fast, and easy describe not only the user experience,
but your work to install a 2x12 system. Desktop Directors connect
with simple modular cables, and the producer PC (if needed) via
Ethernet. Analog and AES/EBU audio connections are standard.

Zephyr Xstream:
The Best Way to Hear From There
Since we introduced the concept of MPEG Layer 3 over ISDN in 1993, Zephyr has become perhaps
the most successful digital broadcast product ever, with many thousands serving broadcasters
daily.
Zephyr Xstream adds MPEG AAC-LD - low-delay Advanced Audio Coding that delivers Layer 3
quality while reducing delay by as much as 80%.

The original Zephyr was famous for being easy to use, and
the Xstream continues this characteristic. Operate it with the
friendly local controls, or via a PC web browser.
Transmits and receives over ISDN Basic Rate circuits via its
internal Telco interface, and IP network connections via its
Ethernet port. An optional V.35 interface supports up to 384
kbps for multi-line, satellite, and other transmission media.
www.zephyr.com
New! Zephyr Xstream supports studio side communication with
Telos’ new Xport POTS codec.
Sends and receives high-quality audio with full compatibility
with industry standard MPEG AAC, AAC-LD, Layer 3, Layer 2
and G.722 coding.
With its high performance digital mixer and phantom mic
power, Zephyr Xstream MX and MXP are complete remote
studios packed into a single box. Four-input DSP stereo mixer
has dynamics processing by Omnia. Four independently
adjustable headphone outputs can combine local audio with
a remote mix-minus feed.

New! Zephyr Xport:
Ordinary Phone Line - Extraordinary Audio
Going on the road? Zephyr Xport is the perfect companion. Exclusive Telos technology lets Xport
use a standard analog phone line to connect with any Zephyr Xstream ISDN codec; groundbreaking
Spectral Band Replication coding delivers stunning reproduction of voice, music or both.

With its built-in mixer, Zephyr Xport is perfect for grab-andgo
remotes. DSP mixer section has mic and line inputs with
selectable dynamics processing by Omnia, plus independent
receive audio, headphone and monitor mix outputs.
www.zephyr.com
ISDN makes for great sounding remotes, but you can’t always
get ISDN where and when you want it. With Zephyr Xport, you
can use a standard analog phone line in the field to connect
with the Zephyr Xstream ISDN codec in your studio.
You’ll enjoy jaw-dropping audio with rock-solid connections
that POTS codecs restricted to analog on the studio side can’t
provide. Custom DSP-based modem extracts maximum bitrate
from real-world lines and prevents audio loss from re-training.
Operating your Zephyr Xport is simple. We designed the
friendly menus with non-technical users in mind. Built-in
webserver and Ethernet port lets you interact with your Xport
using a web browser on a laptop.

ProFiler is ideal for stations
required by law to log
program content, and
since you can also listen
to “live” audio over IP as
it’s being logged, it’s great
for program consultants
or group PDs. Production
directors and morning show
producers will love the
integrated audio browser
that lets them tag segments
and export them as WAV
files for further editing.
www.telos-systems.com
Telos ProFiler is the efficient, set-and-forget way to
automatically log your radio station’s program audio. Forget
wheel aids in audio editing when an audio recording system
is connected.
www.telos-systems.com
SmartSurface functions are configurable, so you can program
entire shows - including user preferences - for instant recall.
Unlike traditional consoles, each channel can access all
sources in the facility, making it possible to run the most
complex shows with a relatively small control surface.
Using SmartSurface, talent works more effectively with
fewer errors. Twin active-matrix TFT displays provide vital
show information such as metering, event timers and status
indicators. Combined with the individual status displays
and alpha displays employed on the channel and monitor
sections, SmartSurface keeps operators well informed at all
times.
