Supplies and MaterialsSanding AidSanding Aid is a mixture consisting of a wax additive dissolved in a Styrene Monomer base. It is mixed in resins and gel coats forfinish coats and patching to ensure a tack-free surface cure. As the gel coat cures, the wax rises to the surface. Sanding aid shouldnever be used when additional lamination will be done - due to the presence of the wax, the layers will not bond. Sanding aid shouldbe added at the same concentration as the catalyst (MEKP).Patching AidPatchaid from Cook Composites & Polymers is speciallyformulated to improve the working properties of traditional gelcoat spray patches.
