MOUNTAIN BIKES 26"AUTHOR CARBON MTB 26“MOUNTAIN BIKES 26"For the 2013 model year, we are offering a new carbon frame of the 3rd generation. It is again an outcome ofcooperation of the AUTHOR brand with the industrial designer Mr. Ing. Pavel Sajtak. The frame is our fourth commoncarbon initiative. Its shape is again dominant, like, for instance, the A-RAY or Cross frame platform, a deflected shapeof the top tube that fluently merges into the seat stay.MTB 26“ 3rd generation Frame´s Structural Elements1. Direct Post Mount (PM) on the rear chain stay prepared for 6“ rotor.2. Inner Cable Routing (ICR) not disturbing the design with its presence on the frame, for both derailleursled through the top frame tube.3. The conical head tube compatible with the 1,5“ fork´s tapered steerer tube.4. 73 mm wide BB shell – forthcoming standard and enhanced rigidity of the BB shell.5. Application of the stainless steel stickers on the chain stay and down tube to protect the frametubes from chain´s falling of the chainwheels is already a standard.6. The rear chain stay that is narrowed to be capable of containing 30, alternatively 20 speeds(the space for a double or triple chainring).Geometry and Carbon UsedThe geometry is identical with the 2nd generation of our frame due toabsolute satisfaction. We manufacture the frame in 3 different levels ofcarbon quality: A, B and C. It is used for 6 models in total: MAGNUM,INTROVERT, SECTOR, MASTER, REVOLT and MODUS and offeredin 4 frame sizes: 16, 17.5, 19 and 20.5“.Head SetThe head set used for all 6 carbonmodels will be semi-integrated1,5“ tapered Press Fit (PF), i.e.bearings placed in basins andthen pressed into the frame. This head set is betterprotected against external effects, which we consideran important aspect in case of a mountain bike.Bottom Bracket BB30 PFModels MAGNUM and MASTERwill be again compatible with thestandard BB30 Press Fit (PF). .SHIMANO DMRDThe models, the frames of which use the Shimano rear derailleurof the XT and XTR level and have a new carbon frame for 2013or duralumin frame will be equipped with DMRD – Direct Mount RearDerailleur = a special replaceable hanger for direct mounting of the rearderailleur.frame Author carbon monocoque 26" tires Geax AKA Pluma Kevlar 26" x 1.80"fork DT Swiss XRC 100 (100 mm) weight 8,4 Kg / 19"chainwheel Sram XX (42-28 teeth)rear derailleur Sram XXshifters Sram XX GripShift, 20 speedbrakes Avid Elixir XXframetechnologyAdvantages:1. possibility to shorten rear stays (suitable for racing XC)2. easier demounting of rear wheel3. better shifting of rear derailleurwheel set DT Swiss XR 145044/ mountain bikesmountain bikes /45
