Community partnershipsHigh aspirationsAt Castell Alun we are proud to be part ofour local community. Our students are excellentambassadors for the school in the way they engagein our many varied links and partnerships.We raise large sums of money for local charitiesevery year and our Duke of Edinburgh Award Schemeand Welsh Baccalaureate involvement provide wellused platforms for community service.Our students put on high quality concertsin school and across our local area.Our adult education programme is long standingand we are constantly looking for ways toenhance and develop this facet of school life.A large number of ex-students live andwork locally and their children and evengrandchildren attend Castell Alun.We believe that all our students are capable ofimpressive things and we always encourage them toaspire to be the best they can be in everything they do.With careful, considered guidance and personal supportour students constantly achieve the examinationgrades of which they are capable and consequentlypursue further study or career paths which are ofreal interest to them. We work with our studentsto set ambitious, but achievable, targets in eachsubject and we monitor and support every learner.We welcome a great variety of visiting speakers intoschool each term to deliver presentations and provideworkshops about various aspects of life beyond school,including inputs from various professions andworthy charities.
