Servicesinclude, hospitals, schools, higher education, cultural, leisure and neighbourhood facilitiesand places to meet and worship, to create healthy and secure living conditions, basedon improving standards of provisionSupport <strong>the</strong> economy by enhancing educational achievement and skills, and by providing<strong>for</strong> a range of premises and land (including strategically important sites) to meet <strong>the</strong>changing needs of sectors, in a way that complements and helps to implement <strong>the</strong> RESSecure fundamental improvements to public transport, traffic management and use ofroad space to tackle congestion and poor air quality in many urban areasMake <strong>the</strong> best use of land <strong>for</strong> housing, economic development and o<strong>the</strong>r infrastructureby assisting redevelopment, regeneration and <strong>the</strong> provision of urban extensions in anintegrated and sustainable wayEnsure that where ‘dormitory’ relationships exist between <strong>the</strong> SSCT and o<strong>the</strong>r townsand villages, this is not exacerbated by <strong>the</strong> development proposals contained in LDDs.Dormitory relationships are highlighted in Section 4.
