Save the Date: 76th Annual Meeting Capital Credit Union will be holding its 76th Annual Meeting on March 2, 2012. The meeting will start in the evening and will include a business meeting, dinner and entertainment. Complete details and tickets will be available in January 2012 - watch your mail and our website at www.capcu.org. Election of the Board of Directors Capital Credit Union’s Board of Directors is made up of nine members. Board members are elected to three-year terms. An exception would be if someone were elected to fill an unexpired term. The Capital Credit Union Nominating Committee has completed its work and is submitting the following slate of candidates: Faye Miller, Michael Gunsch and Stephen Vaughan. Please see candidate biographies on the reverse side. Nominations for vacancies may also be made by petition. Each petition must carry the signatures of one (1) percent of the members, which was 223 members as of August 31, 2011, with a maximum of five hundred (500). Nominations by petition must be received by the Secretary of the Board of Directors on or before November 15, 2011. All nominations must be accompanied by a signed certification of the willingness of the nominee to serve if elected. Petition forms and instructions may be obtained at the Main Office. Please send completed petitions to: Capital Credit Union, Attn: Faye Miller, Board Secretary, PO Box 2096, Bismarck, ND 58502-2096. Nominations are not allowed from the floor of the annual meeting. If there is a single slate of candidates (one candidate for each open position), they will be elected by acclamation at the annual meeting and no balloting will be necessary. If there are more candidates than open positions, then the election will be conducted by mail ballot prior to the annual meeting. In distributing the mail ballot to Capital Credit Union members eligible to vote, the Nominating Committee will present and identify candidates nominated by petition along with its own candidates. Names and a brief biography of each candidate will be sent to all members eligible to vote. Election results will be announced at the annual meeting on March 2, 2012. Candidate Requirements Each nominee for a position on the Board of Directors must be a member of Capital Credit Union. Good candidates should possess the following traits: • Have a sincere desire to serve in a volunteer capacity. • Be willing to commit time to increasing their knowledge and education regarding the financial services industry. • Be willing to actively participate in the responsibilities of their elected position.
