This mindset, placed in a strong academic environment, has led to outstanding studentand alumni achievements.Year after year, McGann-Mercy students are recognized for their academics and are accepted into some offinest universities and colleges. In 2011, 100% of the graduates pursued a secondary education and wereoffered $9.2 million in scholarships.This fall, our school was named as a NY State Scholar/Athlete School of Distinction, where all our varsityteams had a composite grade point average of 90 or better; we were one of two schools on Long Island toreceive this honor.The confidence in both our athletic department and our fine arts department is displayed both on the fieldand on the stage. Student performers and athletes are taught to be leaders who have character, self discipline,and understand what it means to be a part of a team. Because of this, many of our teams have won national,state, county and league championships and many of our young actors have been recognized as some of themost talented on the East End of Long Island.So, what truly makes McGann-Mercy High School so special and different?
