PILGRIMAGEHe went on Ĥajj, the major pilgrimage only once after it was madeobligatory; and twice prior to this.He set out for the farewell pilgrimage in the day; he oiled and combedhis hair, perfumed his clothes and stayed overnight in Dhu’l Ĥulayfah. 42He said: Last night, a herald came to me from my Lord and said: “Pray inthis blessed valley and say: I intend for úmrah 43 and ĥajj”. 44So he donned the iĥram 45 for both pilgrimages together. 46He entered Makkah on Sunday morning from the two rising hills; andperformed the ţawāf 47 of arrival. In three of the rounds he did ramal 48and walked at ease in the rest of the four. He stayed there until the sun began to descend, 52 and he gave a sermon; he prayed in congregation and combined both prayers ofearly and late afternoon. Both were prayed with one adhān 53 but withseparate iqāmah. 54He then went to the standing place [in Árafah] and stood theresupplicating and glorifying his Lord Almighty, and proclaiming Hisgreatness 55 until sunset.He returned to Muzdalifah after sunset and stayed there overnight andprayed the Fajr of the following morning there. He then stood at Masháral-Ĥarām, just until sunrise. 56He returned to Minā before sunrise. [Thereafter,] he stoned the devilat Jamarah al-Áqabah, 57 casting seven pebbles. So also, on the remainingthree days of Tashrīq, he went on foot, to stone the devil, and he castseven pebbles in each of the three stoning places.
