On <strong>the</strong> eighth day <strong>of</strong> Dhu’l Ĥijjah, 51 he set out to Minā. He prayedŻuhr, Áşr, Maghrib, Íshā, and stayed <strong>the</strong>re overnight; he also prayed Fajr<strong>the</strong> following morning <strong>the</strong>re.After sunrise, he went to Árafah and a tent was erected for him atNamirah. He stayed <strong>the</strong>re until <strong>the</strong> sun began to descend, 52 and he gave a sermon; he prayed in congregation and combined both prayers <strong>of</strong>early and late afternoon. Both were prayed with one adhān 53 but withseparate iqāmah. 54He <strong>the</strong>n went to <strong>the</strong> standing place [in Árafah] and stood <strong>the</strong>resupplicating and glorifying his Lord Almighty, and proclaiming Hisgreatness 55 until sunset.He returned to Muzdalifah after sunset and stayed <strong>the</strong>re overnight andprayed <strong>the</strong> Fajr <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following morning <strong>the</strong>re. He <strong>the</strong>n stood at Masháral-Ĥarām, just until sunrise. 56He returned to Minā before sunrise. [Thereafter,] he stoned <strong>the</strong> devilat Jamarah al-Áqabah, 57 casting seven pebbles. So also, on <strong>the</strong> remainingthree days <strong>of</strong> Tashrīq, he went on foot, to stone <strong>the</strong> devil, and he castseven pebbles in each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> three stoning places.
