Patron Members Brunch<br />
Patron members are a vital link in the long tradition of philanthropy<br />
and personal involvement that has been at the heart of <strong>Joslyn</strong>.<br />
September 11<br />
Members were invited to a special Patron Members-only<br />
brunch to meet Dr. John Wilson, <strong>Joslyn</strong>’s Director of<br />
Curatorial Affairs and Curator of European <strong>Art</strong>. Following the<br />
brunch, Director J. Brooks Joyner discussed the exhibition<br />
Russia’s Age of Elegance highlighting the significance and<br />
history of a few select pieces.<br />

Young <strong>Art</strong> Patrons<br />
The Young <strong>Art</strong> Patrons offers engaging social and educational<br />
events for a rising generation of arts admirers between the ages of<br />
25 and 40. These events emphasize the richness of the <strong>Museum</strong>’s<br />
special exhibitions and collections, provide exposure to a variety of<br />
music programs, and feature privileged access to the <strong>Museum</strong>’s<br />
staff and board.<br />
May 4<br />
The Young <strong>Art</strong> Patrons (YAP) held a kick-off celebration, <strong>Art</strong><br />
on Tap, announcing <strong>Joslyn</strong>’s newest Patron group. This event<br />
provided an opportunity for young professionals to visit the<br />
<strong>Museum</strong> free of charge and meet others who share a similar<br />
interest in the arts.<br />

June 23<br />
Members had a special evening with contemporary artist<br />
Frederick J. Brown to learn more about his portraits of jazz<br />
musicians in the exhibition Portraits of Music I Love. The<br />
evening included refreshments, live jazz music, and a gallery<br />
talk by Brown.<br />
July 14<br />
YAP members had a special evening at the Jazz on the Green<br />
concert featuring guitarist Dave Stryker. A designated area on<br />
the green was reserved for members to enjoy the live music and<br />
visit with other young professionals.<br />
August 12<br />
YAP members had an exclusive tour of three art facilities in<br />
downtown Omaha: KANEKO, Bemis Center for<br />
Contemporary <strong>Art</strong>s, and Fluxion Gallery. The <strong>Art</strong> Crawl in<br />
August provided an opportunity for members to view<br />
contemporary art in the community. Members enjoyed private<br />
receptions at each location.<br />

September 12<br />
YAP members partnered with the Omaha Symphony for their<br />
Pink Martini Cocktail Party. Members enjoyed recorded jazz<br />
music by the band Pink Martini and visited with members<br />
from other young professional organizations.<br />
October 14<br />
Members received free admission, reserved seating, and<br />
complimentary refreshments during a special evening at First<br />
Friday JAM with the Chris Saub Trio.<br />
November 20<br />
YAP members and their families took part in an afternoon of<br />
entertainment and education at the YAP Family Day.<br />
Members enjoyed art making activities, a scavenger hunt, and<br />
a guided tour of the exhibition Out of the Wild: John James<br />
Audubon’s Four-Legged Mammals of North America.
