We detected a significant increasein H 2O 2-producing peroxidase (NADH-peroxidase)activity in cowpea treated with the chemicals atboth an early (Fig. 5a) and late growth stage (Fig. 5b),indicating that these treatments induce the synthesis ofpathogenesis-related proteins, which help the plants toresist the pathogen attack.REFERENCESAbramovitch R.A., 1975.
