The17.7-hectare scheme to transform <strong>the</strong>city’s historic Chapel Street area witha mixed-use development creatingnew homes and commercial spacewill reinstate Chapel Street as a busygateway to <strong>the</strong> city centre.Green and walkable streetsCentral Salford is rolling out its visionto re-connect communities throughits ‘green and walkable streets’programme. Ensuring high qualitypublic realm in local areas to supportsustainable regeneration and link majorboulevarding and public realm projectsinto adjacent neighbourhoods. Areabasedinitiatives are already planned forOrdsall and Chapel Street.
