Function: noun 1. what people think is morally right 2. something that is an advantage or help to a person or situation Our slogan GROWINGGOOD defines in a simple phrase what the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is all about. However, you can illustrate that in many ways. For example, you can show it by growth: $9 million the amount of gifts received since the foundation was established in 1995 $325,000 gifts we received in 2010 70 the number of funds established since the foundation started. That includes three new funds started in 2010 $3 million the value of grants awarded in the past 15 years $434,673 the value of grants for 2010 alone You also can define the Community Foundation by the good that comes from its existence. Many area high school students are able to attend college because of a scholarship from one of the Foundation’s scholarship funds. Many organizations are able to purchase 2 0 1 0 A N N U A L R E P O R T / 2 equipment, enhance their operations and serve more community members because of Foundation grants. For example, some of the state-of-the-art equipment at Olean General Hospital would not be possible without the legacy of the Mildred Milliman Fund. The Allegheny River Valley Trail would not exist without the fundraising donations that supported it through the Foundation. From students to patients, from recreational walkers to Little League sluggers, artists, veterans and all sorts of community residents in between – the Community Foundation is here to make your life better in our region. For the many people who want to support our community in their individual way – for causes they care about most – the Foundation is here to help facilitate their philanthropy. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors who created funds and continue to add to them. We thank all of our donors who support projects and programs in our region with their gifts to existing funds. We welcome all to help grow good in our community through donations to the Foundation.
