In the 1940-50’s Spotnitz was consultingpsychiatrist at The Jewish Board of Guardians(JBG) which functioned as a clinic catering mostlyto children and families suffering from narcissisticdisorders. The JBG was at the same time a trainingcenter and a research forum where psychologistsand social workers were trained to dopsychotherapy. Here Spotnitz developed hisclinical method for the treatment of pathologicalnarcissism and trained many followers whocontributed to the further development of whatcame to be known as “modern psychoanalysis.”py y
