|5Two-Days TrainingWorkshop on “Biogas<strong>for</strong> Future”1-2 December 2012 | Seri Kembangan, SelangorThe Two-Days Training Workshop on “Biogas <strong>for</strong> Future“ was a twoday workshop jointly organised by MySET <strong>and</strong> the Deparment ofChemical & Environmental Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia.The workshop focused on Biogas as the dominant renewableenergy source which production is likely to increase greatly in thecoming decades. The speaker <strong>for</strong> the first day was Prof. Dr. BerndLinke from Leibniz Research Institute <strong>for</strong> Agricultural Engineering(ATB), Postdam-Bornim, Germany. There were two local speakersintroduced <strong>for</strong> the second which were Mr. Zainuri Busu from theBiomas Department, FELDA Palm Industries Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia<strong>and</strong> Prof. Dr. Azni Idris from the Department of Chemical &Environmental Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia.The workshop was attended by 25 participants <strong>and</strong> at the end of theworkshop, there was a discussion session between participants <strong>and</strong>workshop speakers. As a summary, participants were educated on theneed of alternative energy from bio-based materials, heighten theirawareness on related global energy issues <strong>and</strong> had the opportunity toexchange knowledge & experiance of biogas application.2 nd EngineeringEducation Summit2 December 2012 | Seri Kembangan, SelangorMySET NEWSLETTER | 16th ISSUE | JAN - MAR <strong>2013</strong>MySET also organised a pre-Convention workshop which wascalled The 2nd Engineering Education Summit. The Summit was thesecond of its series since WEC2012 <strong>and</strong> it was attended by around 30participants. The Summit was an effective plat<strong>for</strong>m <strong>for</strong> communication<strong>and</strong> collaboration among the stakeholders in <strong>engineering</strong> educationto share their views <strong>and</strong> opinions in building <strong>and</strong> nurturing qualityattributes. The Summit began with the Welcoming & KeynoteAddress entitled “Washington Accord - Moving On” by Prof. Ir.Megat Johari Megat Mohd Noor from Malaysia-Japan InternationalInstitute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The nextkeynote speaker was Ir. Azlan Abdul Aziz from the EngineeringAccreditation Department (EAD), Board of Engineers Malaysia witha keynote Address entitled “Latest Requirements in Outcome BasedEducation”. After the lunch break, Prof. Dr. Nor Kamariah BintiNoordin from Universiti Putra Malaysia gave her keynote addressentitled “Project Oriented Problem Based Learning: A Student
