arose because <strong>of</strong> our own appreciation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> privilege and<br />
unique advantages that are part <strong>of</strong> being a gallery in one <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> world’s most desirable locations; <strong>New</strong> York’s art district -<br />
West <strong>Chelsea</strong>. Of course, <strong>Chelsea</strong> is Agora Gallery’s home,<br />
but it occurred to us that <strong>the</strong>re are galleries who are based<br />
outside <strong>of</strong> <strong>New</strong> York, and who mainly display work elsewhere,<br />
who would be able to benefit from also mounting exhibitions<br />
here.<br />
<strong>The</strong> exposure <strong>the</strong> artists’ work receives through being shown<br />
in one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> centers <strong>of</strong> world art, and <strong>the</strong> experience <strong>the</strong> artists<br />
gain, is invaluable. Similarly for <strong>the</strong> gallery, establishing a<br />
presence in this crucial location is useful in itself, building<br />
up prestige and experience, and also reflects well on <strong>the</strong><br />
gallery in its home base.
