Not caring for the fulfilmentof our own little individual will, but for the fulfilmentof the divine Will that isgoverning these individualwills. That state conies to a soul who has attainedto freedom. The soul then becomes the playground ofthe Almighty Being who plays through him. He hasbecome free from all desires and wants. He does not carefor whether he possesses this thing or that. Ifeverything istaken away from him, he is stillhappy.If this body betaken away from him, he does not mind. It is not a stateof indifference; it is a stale of vital strength. Very fewpeople have realized this spiritual strength which comesto the soul who has resigned his individual will to theWill of the Lord. Resignation is necessary. In time ofdistress, sorrow and suffering, when we find no remedy,no help from ordinary mortals or earthly beings, then weare resigned. And in resignation comes true peace andhappiness. That is the real state which we are longingfor. Because we cannot resign constantly; we are unhappy.We want this and we want that, and wesuffer; but a true devotee of the Lord is free from allwants and desires. He cares not whether his desires arefulfilled or not, but he prays to the Lord, saying: "OLord! Thy will be done; not mine." He has absolutecontentment and at the same time he understands thetrue relation of the soul,the relation which the individualsoul bears to the infinite Being. He understands that allindividuals are children of the almighty Being. He hasneither enemy nor foe. All are his friends, all are friendlyto him. He has no attachment to any particular conditionor particular object. He does not care, because he knowsthat he can possess nothing. Everything that he had, hehas given unto the Lord. And then he enjoys that wisdomwhich we are longing for. That happiness comes to himin this very life, and, after the dissolution of the body,he remains as one with the Infinite. He is no longer subjectto birth and death, because he has transcended thelaws of nature. He communes with the Lord and sees

He does not seek any result, but he givesthem as a free offering, and, having transcended the lawsof nature, the law ot action and reaction, the law of Karma,he discovers Divine glory and attains to realization whichlasts through eternity.
