BiannualBURKEJANE AUSTEN SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE GRANTIn conjunction with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Alberta and HenryBurke Collection, Goucher College invites scholars to apply for the biannual BurkeJane Austen Scholar-in-Residence Grant. This five-day residency offers scholars theopportunity to use the materials in the Burke Collection in the Rare Book Room ofthe Julia Rogers Library at Goucher College and includes a $1000 stipend, travelexpenses, and hotel accommodations.The scholar will offer one public lecture on Jane Austen and will meet withstudents and faculty to discuss research methods and scholarly interests. Theresidency must be taken during the fall or spring semesters. Applications must bereceived by April 15, 2001 and the first grant will be awarded during the 2001-2002 academic year.Interested scholars should send a vita, statement of purpose, and two confidentialletters of recommendation to: Nancy Magnuson / College Librarian / Julia RogersLibrary / Goucher College / 1021 Dulaney Valley Road / Baltimore, MD 21204.Drawing by David Levine.
