Name of the Scholarship: Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighter Scholarship Program Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighter Scholarship Amount of the Scholarship: A minimum of one $500 scholarship will be awarded each year. (If qualified applicants apply) Purpose: The Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighter Scholarship Program is intended to stimulate the junior firefighters of the Reiffton Fire Company to strive to achieve academic and firefighting excellence. The program is also intended to recruit and retain interested students into the Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighting Program. Eligibility Requirements: • High School Seniors • Must be a member of the Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighting Program for a minimum of six months prior to the awarding of the scholarship. (Scholarship awarded at the Senior Awards Night at the respective high school) • Applicants must enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study no later than the fall term of the 2008-2009 school year at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational school. How Scholarship Recipient is Chosen: The Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighter Scholarship recipient is selected by the Reiffton Fire Company Fire Chief, the Reiffton Fire Company Junior Advisor, and the Reiffton Fire Company Banquet Committee. The Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighter Scholarship recipient will be based on: • Involvement and dedication to the Reiffton Fire Company Junior Firefighting Program • Volunteer Leadership (Awards and Honors) • Essay on Volunteer Service • Grade Point Average of 2.0 or Higher / Percentage of 70% or Higher (C Average) • Completed Junior Firefighting Scholarship Application If you are selected to receive the scholarship: • You will be notified at the Senior Awards Night at the respective high school. • You will be given a check after notification of acceptance to an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
