TRANSPORTATIONDowneyLINKTransit SystemThe City of Downey’s public transit system,DowneyLINK, operates Monday throughFriday from 6:30am to 6:30pm with fourcirculating routes. All routes begin and end at the DowneyDepot Transportation Center located at 8150 Nance Street (oneblock south of Firestone Blvd. off Downey Avenue).The fare is 50¢ a ride with free transfers to the other DowneyLINKroutes when transfers are sequential. Riders may transferfrom one DowneyLINK route to another—ask the Driver for atransfer. (Note: MTA transfers or passes are not accepted onDowneyLINK and DowneyLINK transfers are not valid for useon MTA vehicles.)Disabled riders with a valid ACCESS Services identification cardride free. The 30-use bus ticket books are non-refundable, nonreplaceable,non-transferable. We are not responsible for lost,damaged or stolen ticket books; please keep in a safe placebecause lost or stolen ticket books will not be replaced. The 30-use bus tickets will allow riders to use tickets on each boardingin lieu of cash and can be deposited in the fare box. Transfersbetween routs are still free. For your convenience, 30-use busticket books are available for purchase. Cash or check only, madeout to the City of Downey. Ticket books locations and hoursare: Downey City Hall Finance Department, 11111 BrookshireAve, Monday through Friday, 7:30am until 5:00pm.Dial-A-Ride serves senior citizens (65 years or older) and thedisabled community. To apply for this valuable program,please call the Dial-A-Ride office at (562) 904-7215 or www.downeyca.org.This service is a “shared ride,” curb-to-curb service. Tripreservations for medical appointments may be made one weekin advance. Reservations for all other trips may be made oneday in advance starting at 8:00am on a “space available” basis.Dial-A-Ride buses operate Monday through Friday, limitedbuses operate on Saturday, and two buses on Sunday.
