InstallationInstructionsForms ofExpansion JointsThe joints in concrete pavements and driveways etc. fall intotwo basic categories; those that allow movement (isolationand expansion joints) and those that control cracking of theconcrete (control or contraction joints).Isolation joints are used to separate the pavements fromabutting buildings, existing pavements, driveways or rigidstructures such as drainage pits, access holes or columnswhich may cause restraint of the pavement and therebyincrease the risk of cracks forming.FOAMJOINT TM - PlainSOF-FORM ADHESIVE• Unroll and cut to the required length.• Attach the expansion joint to the adjacent material beforepouring the concrete.• Attachment can be achieved by using either constructionadhesive, nails or staples.• Ensure that the top of the expansion joint is at the topof the intended concrete pour.• FOAMJOINT TM comes with a “ZIP” tear off strip, the zipshould face up if sealing is desired after the concretehardens. If sealant is not required have the zip facingdownwards.• When the expansion joint is in position, pour the nextlot of concrete.
