TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT UPDATEDepartment Head Santo RossiCOSMETOLOGY“STYLE-A-THON”REGAINS HOPE FORCHARITYOn December 10th the CosmetologyDepartment had a Style-athon benefitting Dr. Simone’s “CanadianFood for Children Charity.” AllCosmetology students were servicingthe school community and their families.Through the services, raffles, and auctions$1,310.00 was raised to benefit familiesin need, especially during this Christmasseason. The spirit of caring and giving wasprevalent through the Cosmetology students,<strong>Holy</strong> <strong>Cross</strong> community, and families ofstudents. Thank you so much, A. Panetta.CULINARY ARTS STUDENTSSERVE IT UPA School Council Chairs’ meeting was hosted by <strong>Holy</strong><strong>Cross</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> in the Bonaventure Room on November3rd 2008. The prepared dinner for guests was cooked by students,friends, teachers and alumni of <strong>Holy</strong> <strong>Cross</strong>. The reviewsof the school and the Hospitality Departmentwere simply outstanding. Many ofthe guests were surprised by the excellenceof our facilities, staff and how supportiveour students are. Mr. Donadio and Mr. Belvederewould like tothank all those whohelped out with thenight’s success.CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGYCLASSES ROCKAll Construction tech studentshave been busy creating unique projectsfrom DVD cabinets to Wonkees. The beautifulplanter bench in the atrium was builtby the Grade 12 class for the <strong>Holy</strong> <strong>Cross</strong>community. Other student projects includean ice-fishing hut, a poker table aswell as a working replica Guitar herobuilt by student Alex Skerlan. Look forexciting news about the new Woodworkingcourses next year.
