EXTENSIVE DUTCH PROGRAM<br />

AT POPKOMM AND<br />

REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL 2006<br />

An extensive delegation of promising<br />

<strong>Dutch</strong> bands will be playing at the Popkomm<br />

and Reeperbahn festivals in Berlin<br />

and Hamburg in September. With a total<br />

of nine acts confirmed for Popkomm and<br />

seven for Reeperbahn, genre’ range from<br />

alternative rock, pop to underground<br />

electro and full-on adrenaline driven rock<br />

‘n roll. Bound to make a firm imprint on<br />

the German music scene, a free CD with<br />

new <strong>Dutch</strong> music is also included in Visions<br />

magazine this month.<br />

Holland showcase program at<br />

Popkomm, a number of special<br />

events will be taking place:<br />

• A free Neue Holländische<br />

Welle CD is inserted in the<br />

September issue of Visions<br />

Magazine, distributed to all<br />

18.000 subscribers<br />

• Also, the Neue Holländische<br />

Welle CD is handed out for<br />

free to any of the visitors to<br />

the <strong>Dutch</strong> showcases in Kesselhaus,<br />

Kulturbrauerei (Berlin)<br />

on 22 September.<br />

• Both Laut.de and Tonspion.de<br />

host a download platform with<br />

download from extra tracks,<br />

games and information on the<br />

bands involved.<br />

• Furthermore, special giveaway<br />

actions with tickets and<br />

artist CD albums are set up in<br />

co-operation with Die 4ma and<br />

Trinity Concerts. Also, advertisements<br />

in magazines, listings<br />

and online resources are made,<br />

while street promo and PR<br />

towards magazines, clubs and<br />

radio will be undertaken<br />

The <strong>Dutch</strong> music industry is<br />

also well represented at the<br />

Popkomm convention floor,<br />

with over <strong>50</strong> <strong>Dutch</strong> companies<br />

present. <strong>Dutch</strong> music export<br />

bureau <strong>Buma</strong> <strong>Cultuur</strong> sets up<br />

an extensive stand on the Popkomm<br />

convention, to be used<br />

by the <strong>Dutch</strong> music industry to<br />

meet their peers.<br />
