Spring Family WeekendAlthough spring made its way slowly to campus thisyear, Spring Family Weekend was upon us April 11-12.Parents gathered on Friday for Team Coffees and then astate-of-the-school update with Mike Cooper at AndersonHall. Following Cooper’s remarks, the audience wastreated to two musical numbers by cast members of therecent West Side Story production.Throughout the day parents of juniors had theopportunity for appointments with representatives fromthe College Counseling Office. In the afternoon parentslearned about the college admissions process fromvarious college admission officers invited for the event.Shane Wilmoth ‘10 and Charlie Dyche ‘10 at the 21 table.The Craps table, with faculty members Bret Barnett and Jim Weeks as dealers, saw a lot of action.Parent-teacher conferences occurred throughout theafternoon.The Blairs traveled from New York City to visit daughter Keshia ‘11 for the weekend.In the evening, families enjoyed dinner in the dining hall andthen tried their luck in the “Estabrook casino” where facultyand administrators dealt the cards, rolled the dice, and spunthe wheels, while gamblers of all ages tried to amass chips thatwould be turned into prizes at the end of the night. Who waslucky? Tom Holstrom ’10 won an iTunes gift certificate andMason Maddox ’09 won a gift certificate to <strong>Brewster</strong>’s CampusStore.On Saturday, parent-teacher conferences continued throughoutthe morning as did college counseling appointments.
