“Tri Delta has always been my home since the day Istepped onto the Southern Methodist University campus, and the sisters I met here are my family. Tri Delta means somuch to me, and I’m so thankful. I can say from personalexperience that Tri Delta does not ‘change’ a person, but rather enhances the already wonderful qualities aperson has.”~ Mi-Sun BaeThe Leona Muse Scholarship FundIn 2006, Tri Delta lost a devoted and inspiringmember. Leona McKie Muse, Southern Methodist, was an accomplished organist and composed music.Tri Delta membership left quite an impact on Mrs.Muse, and she was looking for ways to assistmembers with their education.Shortly after Mrs. Muse passed away, the Foundationsoon learned that it would be the recipient of abequest from her, valued at over $2.8 million. Herkind and generous gift established an endowmentto provide scholarships to undergraduate andgraduate Tri Delta members. This year was the firstyear the Foundation awarded scholarships usingthese funds, with a total of $74,000 awarded. Mrs.Muse understood the importance of broadeningthe intellectual life of members, and her gift willcontinue supporting Tri Delta sisters for generationsto come.Mi-Sun Bae, Southern Methodist2013-2014 Leona MuseScholarship RecipientAfter observing a music therapy session atChildren’s Medical Center in Dallas during herjunior year of high school, Mi-Sun Bae knew thatmusic therapy was her vocational calling. I am sothankful for the scholarship donors that have made itpossible for me to attend this school and also have the luxuryof being a part of a sisterhood that cannot be explained. When I succeed and when I am able to support myself, Iam going to give back. I want to show my appreciation bydoing exactly what others have done for me.”
