Fletcher students havelibrary privileges at all the Tufts University Libraries, at many Harvard UniversityLibraries, and at the 16 other New England academic libraries that make up theBoston Library Consortium.Athletic FacilitiesRecognizing the connection between a keen mind and a healthy body, Fletcherencourages physical fitness among its students, all of whom have access to TuftsUniversity’s athletic facilities. Personal fitness programs as well as group exerciseclasses are available to the entire Tufts community, as are personal athletic trainersfor individualized instruction. The campus also features numerous tennis courtsand playing fields for soccer and other sports.On- and Off-Campus HousingThe suites of Blakeley Hall—conveniently located next door to Fletcher—canaccommodate 83 Fletcher students. Each suite contains two or three privatebedrooms and a shared bathroom. Blakeley also has a communal kitchen,laundry facilities, and a lounge. Housing preference is given to internationaland first-year students. For more information, visit fletcher.tufts.edu/blakeley.Students wishing to live off campus typically find housing in the communitiesof Medford, Somerville, Arlington, and Cambridge. Those seeking off-campushousing should visit the area at least one to two months before classes begin tomake living arrangements. Students with children should, as early as possible,contact school systems in the communities in which they may live to ensure asmooth transition for their children.At Fletcher, I have learned asmuch from my peers as I haveinside the classroom. Theincredible diversity of students,from work experiences tocultural backgrounds, makesFletcher the ideal place to hearnew perspectives and broadenhorizons.
