<strong>SERE</strong> <strong>100.1</strong> Level A Training Requirements1. Purpose: Personnel Recovery preparation is required to prepare for a situation when a travelerneeds to be authenticated after they have become isolated, captured, missing, or detained;whether through accident (e.g., vehicle breaks down en route to a location), political turmoil(e.g., riot) or criminal/terrorist action (e.g., kidnapping). Travelers should be prepared to surviveunassisted for no less than 96 hours.2. Consult COCOM, Service and Unit PR POCs for specific OCONUS PR travel requirements that maybe more detailed and restrictive.a. USAFRICOM: All DoD travelers will have completed “Level A <strong>SERE</strong> training in support ofthe Code of Conduct (CoC)” or Service Equivalent (initial or continuation training) within36 months prior to entering the US Africa Command AOR.i. Per USPACOM Instruction0503.1, all military members shall comply with these requirements prior to official orunofficial travel or assignment to a foreign territory within the USPACOM AOR (i.e., doesnot include Alaska, Guam, and US territories). DOD civilian and contractors must complywith these requirements prior to assignment or travel in an official capacity to foreignterritory within the USPACOM AOR. Requirements are applicable to DOD contractorsunless specifically exempted by the terms of their contract. If the contract does notsupport <strong>SERE</strong> <strong>100.1</strong> or ISOPREP requirements, completion of <strong>SERE</strong> <strong>100.1</strong> and anelectronic ISOPREP is still highly encouraged.i. d. USSOUTHCOM: <strong>SERE</strong> 100 Level B is obsolete; however, if completed before 1 Jan 2012,it will be accepted until the 3-year requirement expires. If traveler’s currency expiresafter 1 Jan 2012, he/she must complete <strong>SERE</strong> <strong>100.1</strong> Level A or Army PR 101 A, B, and C(all 3 are required to obtain theater entry approval). A <strong>SERE</strong> Level C course exceeds theminimum Level A <strong>SERE</strong> training requirements IAW the JPRA Joint Training Standard. If atraveler has attended a <strong>SERE</strong> Level C course he/she will remain current for 3 yearsafter graduation; after 3 years has concluded the traveler must complete <strong>SERE</strong> <strong>100.1</strong>Level A or Army PR 101, A, B, and C (all 3 are required to obtain theater entry approval)as a currency requirement. Additionally, personnel who maintain <strong>SERE</strong> training currencyIAW AFI 16-1301 are not required to complete <strong>SERE</strong> <strong>100.1</strong>; however those personnelshould list the date they completed module SSO3 (Conduct After Capture) for their <strong>SERE</strong>100 date within an APACS request.i. Go to http://jko.jten.mil/ (this site can be used by non-government personnel,a. contractors, non-CAC users, or by anyone who cannot access <strong>SERE</strong> training via otherb. media and/or who does not have an AKO account)2. Click on “Take Courses – CAC” *3. Click on “Login Using My CAC”4. Click the “Course Catalog” tab5. In the PREFIX FIELD, enter J3T6. In the NUMBER FIELD, enter A-US022, then click on “Apply Filters”7. Click the “Enroll” button


8. Next, click on the “My Atlas” tab, then launch the course from the “My Training” section inorder to receive course credit. You WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT if you launch the course using the“Preview” icon from the “Course Catalog” section. Ensure that upon completion of each lesson,you select the NEXT LESSON button to successfully complete the course. To return to thehomepage, click the “My Atlas” tab.9. This course istailored to DoD Civilian and CAAF personnel and meets Level A <strong>SERE</strong> training Theater EntryRequirements.
