CAPresponds to inquiries from the public regardingState Bar members and assists the public throughinformal methods to resolve inquiries which mayinvolve minor violations of disciplinary standardsby attorneys. Assistance to attorneys is of equalimportance: CAP assists attorneys as much as possiblewith referrals, educational materials, suggestions,solutions, advice and preventive informationto help the attorney with consumer matters. Suchproblems include stress, chemical dependency, familyproblems, and mental or emotional impairment,800-327-9631.Fee ArbitrationThe Fee Arbitration program is a service to the generalpublic and lawyers of Georgia. It provides aconvenient mechanism for the resolution of fee disputesbetween attorneys and clients. The actualarbitration is a hearing conducted by two experiencedattorneys and one non-lawyer citizen. Likejudges, they hear the arguments on both sides anddecide the outcome of the dispute.
