Verify customer concern. Visually inspect cable end bracket.- If there is interference between the soft top cloth and beltline molding and the cable end bracket is ok, goto STEP 2.- If the cable end bracket is bent or broken, proceed to REPAIR PROCEDURE “B” (VEHICLES W/DAM-AGED CABLE END BRACKET(S)).2. Remove the cable end bracket nut and remove bracket from stud.FRONTCABLE ENDBRACKET1599bREMOVETHIS NUT3. Verify repair.REPAIR PROCEDURE “B” (VEHICLES W/DAMAGED CABLE END BRACKET(S))REPLACEMENT OF BENT OR BROKEN CABLE END BRACKETNOTE:• If you install cable end brackets (A-level part), as noted in this bulletin, you don’t need to add awasher.1. Verify customer concern.2. Place a cloth under the area to be drilled to catch shavings and prevent damage to the soft top while drillingout rivets.3. Remove the rivets securing the cable end bracket using a 4mm drill bit.REMOVE RIVETS SECURINGCABLE END BRACKET USINGA 4 mm DRILL1599d4.
