Gillam Farms, located an hour northeast <strong>of</strong> Central<br />

Arkansas, produces a wide variety <strong>of</strong> fruits and<br />

vegetables including asparagus, blueberries,<br />

blackberries, grapes, muscadines, purple hull peas,<br />

sweet potatoes and pumpkins.On the property<br />

is Fruit <strong>of</strong> the Vine, a store where fresh produce is<br />

sold during season. The store also carries juices,<br />

fruits, jams and jellies, pickled items, syrups, honey,<br />

molasses and more. Gift items are also available.<br />

Each October, the Farm hosts school field trips, and<br />

for a small fee students may take a wagon tour, play<br />

in a hay maze and bring home a pumpkin <strong>of</strong> their<br />

own. Tours are also open to the public on weekends.<br />

During the Christmas holidays, the store has gift<br />

baskets filled with items from the Farm store that<br />

may be purchased and carried home or shipped<br />

Tom Johnson loves to open the 540-acre Tom’s<br />

farm that has been in his family for generations, <strong>of</strong>fering<br />

families and groups a great place for wholesome<br />

entertainment.<br />

Springtime is a great time to visit the farm for<br />

Easter egg hunts, hayrides or a bonfire to roast some<br />

hotdogs. Tom’s Farm has customers that drive over 100<br />

miles to buy the best tasting “sweet corn.” The corn is<br />

available mid-June through mid-July. Also available are<br />

cucumbers, tomatoes, cantaloupes and watermelons.<br />

Be sure and visit the farm this fall, you won’t believe<br />

your eyes when you see the thousands <strong>of</strong> pumpkins that<br />

are ready for picking. Stop by and see the animals, corn<br />

maize, playground and more. Don’t miss the Pumpkin<br />

Patch open to the public daily during October. The<br />
