Following its breathtaking and successful show in 2011, Compagnie
Retouramont returns to Oxford with a UK premiere. Danse des Cariatides is a
visually stunning and multi-layered performance, performed by 6 dancers,
fusing aerial dance, sound score and projection. With the walls of Oxford
Castle as a stunning backdrop, this free outdoor spectacular event is not to
be missed.
Watch out for some special dance performances (including an exciting
interactive digital dance installation) happening in Malmaison (Atrium,
Empty Cell and Visitors Room Bar) over both days (more details at

Choreographer Fabrice Guillot will present an inspiring post-show talk
about the work of Compagnie Retouramont. A chance and come along
and ask questions about the work you’ve just seen.

Following the very successful visit to Burton Taylor last year, Between
returns for one evening only. The dancer approaches and embeds
herself within her audience. Meanwhile, another performer is absorbed
in subtle gestures preparing for what is to come… Choreographer Angela
Woodhouse and Jerwood award-winning artist Caroline Broadhead bring
this stunning performance installation to the BT.

This one-day symposium brings together dance practitioners, academics
and professionals from different fi elds to gain an insight into movement
in, through and around space. The day will contain a practical workshop
as well as papers, time for discussion and a unique opportunity to explore
the spaces around us both physically and mentally...
