Construction UpdateThe Trust DepartmentGrande—Italian: large, big, or great;English: the large size of a coffeedrink. If you are familiar withthe coffee shoppeworld, then you haveprobably ordered aGrande-size drink atsome point in your life. Here at THE WILDS, wehave ordered a Grande-sizeCool Beans Coffee Shoppe. Sofar Cool Beans has been nothing butsmall (calling it “tall” would not even bea fair coffee comparison!), but weare excited to announce thatit is now in the process ofbeing made Grande! InOctober of 2008 thetransformation fromsmall to large beganas we were able toopen up the floor spacefrom 750 square feet toover 1,500 square feet. Thefinished shop will provide morethan twice the storage area, almost 3times the behind-the-counter work space, and more than twice the numberof tables and chairs. Otheradditions of interestinclude several newlarge windows to letGod’s creation comeinside (emphasis onthe beauty of the treesand sky, not on the gnatsGrande!by Steve StodolaAssistant to the Director • THE WILDSBrevard, North Carolinaand flies!), a cozy fireplace to add a newdimension to the atmosphere, and an enclosed porch foradditional seating. Addin some new equipmentand you have a GrandeCool Beans CoffeeShoppe.By the time thisNewsLetter reachesyour hands, we will beapproaching the final stages ofthis Grande project. We are so thankfulfor the generous donations that havebeen given and trust that Godwill bring in what is neededto cover the remainingcost of the project (yes,we are still acceptingdonations…). Overall,we hope that thisGrande expansion ofCool Beans will help thecampers have a Grandetime at camp and, moreimportantly, understand just howgreat their God is.And, oh, just for the record, we knowthat some coffee shops make“grande” a mere medium. While it is true that it’snot the largest (venti) inthe world, we believethat the new andimproved Cool Beanswill be Grande for all thecampers at THE WILDS.theNeedscornerItemsReceivedfor THE WILDS2'x4' Rolling ScaffoldConcrete ToolsLab Glassware for Waste Water PlantPipe Fitting Saver KitTripod for Basket Cooking SystemThank You!THE WILDS NeedsBrad Air Nailer (1) - $140Brew Basket for Coffee Maker (2) - $49 eachCommercial Conveyor Toaster (1) - $714Double Handled Cheese Knife (1) - $61Glucose Test Strips (5 boxes) - $50 per boxInsulated Food Warming Cabinet (1) - $4,600Landscaper's Dirt Rakes (2) - $45 eachOffice Chairs (3) - $100 eachPortable Generator (1) - $500Safety Gas Cans (3) - $75 eachShovels (3) - $45 eachI want to help THE WILDS.Enclosed is a gift toward the cost of the indicated need.Rev./Dr.Mr./Mrs./Miss_ ________________________________Address_____________________________________City_ ___________________ State ____ Zip_________Mail to:THE WILDS • PO Box 509 • Taylors, SC 29687-0009Great...________________________On Monday, October 27, 2008, weenjoyed THE WILDS 16 th Annual GolfTournament.
