<strong>MARATHON</strong> <strong>CLASSIC</strong> & <strong>PLUS</strong><strong>RUBBER</strong> <strong>FLOORING</strong>MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSin your automatic scrubber to clean and restore. Follow manufacturer’s directions for use, dilutionand frequency.9. Spray & Buff:a. Spray with neutral spray buff floor finish when necessary and buff with a 175 – 350 r/min bufferequipped with either a beige or white pad.b. Note 1: Spray buffing is best suited to smooth flooring and is not effective on round and squarestuddedflooring.c. Note 2: The application of floor finish products increases the cost of maintenance.REGULAR MAINTENANCE1. Sweep or vacuum daily to remove dust and dirt. If necessary, clean with a wet mop, using a regularneutral cleaner/degreaser.2. For heavily soiled floors, clean with an automatic scrubbing machine with a red pad or soft nylonbrushes and low foam neutral cleaner for auto scrubber. Ensure that the soiled solution is picked upby wet vacuuming or by the automatic scrubber.3. Allow the floor to dry completely.4. Note: Restore the gloss by dry polishing, spray buffing (smooth floors) or by mopping with an acrylicfloor finish. Marathon rubber tiles contain built-in wax, so the more the floor is buffed, the better theappearance.5. Periodic cleaning: If the floor must be thoroughly cleaned, follow the recommendations given underthe Initial Maintenance section.6. These care recommendations are provided for your information only. We do not assumeresponsibility for actual work performed. The warranty extends only to the quality and performanceof the Marathon rubber flooring.7. Follow the instructions on the label of the above products.GENERAL PRECAUTIONS1. Floor protection: Floors must be protected against excessive static loads and abrasion whenmoving furniture. We recommend the removal of small metal glides from furniture legs. Plasticcasters and glides of adequate size should be used to protect the floor surface. They should becleaned periodically to prevent damage when dirt and grit accumulate and they are dragged onfloors.2. Direct sunlight: Flooring constantly exposed to direct sunlight at temperatures over 38C (100F)may result in alteration of dimension, indentation and possible color fading. Protect with drapes orblinds drawn over windows during peak sunlight hours.3. Walk-off mats and throw rugs used in entrance ways: Some types of walk-off mats and throw rugsare backed with a type of latex that may discolor the resilient flooring.
