Theproject’s goal was to enhance security at marine terminal locations by the implementationof an enterprise-wide access control system that will utilize the biometric data on theTransportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) cards issued to staff with accessto secure areas.The project included securing vehicle gates, pedestrian turnstiles, guard booths, andbuildings at more than terminal locations. PSE’s design utilized the existing fiberoptic network infrastructure, and modified existing gates and doors as necessary toimplement the access control solution.
