What’s Changing and WhyIn order to provide you with industry-leadinginvestment <strong>of</strong>ferings and services, the <strong>University</strong><strong>System</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>ORP</strong> periodically reviews theplan’s investment options and providers. When weconduct these reviews, we make sure the financialproviders <strong>of</strong>fer the following benefits:• A broad spectrum <strong>of</strong> investment options,including their own funds as well as fund choicesfrom other investment managers• Financial planning tools participants can use whencreating a retirement investment strategy• Educational resources that increase participants’awareness about the <strong>University</strong> <strong>System</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>ORP</strong>.As a result <strong>of</strong> our most recent plan review, we’reintroducing the following changes, which will go intoeffect on April 1, 2010:• We’re enhancing the investment menu to give youa wider array <strong>of</strong> investment choices.• We’re removing American Century Investments ®as a retirement provider for the plan.What Do I Need to Do?If you currently direct contributions to FidelityInvestments ® , TIAA-CREF and/or VALIC investmentoptions, no action is required at this time. Yourcontributions will continue to be allocated as youhave previously chosen. While no action is requiredon your part, this might be a good time to:If you currently contribute to AmericanCentury investment options:• As <strong>of</strong> April 1, 2010, all American Centuryfunds will be closed to new contributions.By March 31, 2010 you must redirect yourcontributions to investments <strong>of</strong>fered by FidelityInvestments ® , TIAA-CREF or VALIC. If you do notredirect these contributions by March 31, 2010,your American Century fund contributions will beautomatically redirected to an age-appropriateLifecycle Fund with TIAA-CREF.• While TIAA-CREF Lifecycle Funds <strong>of</strong>fer you abroadly diversified portfolio for your retirementinvestment needs, you should review yourportfolio to determine whether you want yourAmerican Century fund contributions to beredirected to any other investments available fromthe investment menu. <strong>The</strong> investment options areshown on pages 11, 13 and 15.• If you wish, contact any <strong>of</strong> the investment providersto discuss the new options or to schedule aninvestment consulting session. <strong>The</strong> phone numberfor each provider is shown on page 5 and the insideback cover.• To redirect your contributions, please contact yourhuman resources department.• Review your retirement portfolio to determineif your current investment choices and assetallocation match your planning goals.• Review the new investment options shown onpages 11, 13 and 15 and, if you wish, contact theappropriate investment provider to discuss thenew options or to schedule an individual meeting.<strong>The</strong> phone number for each provider is shown onpage 5 and the inside back cover.<strong>University</strong> <strong>System</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> Optional Retirement Plan | 3
