Joseph and theChild Jesus. While it was ordered byHeroman Brothers in 1941, it was notdelivered until April of 1955 becausethe war interfered with production. OnApril 15, 1955, the statue — importedfrom Italy — was placed on the conventgrounds. It is six feet tall and weighsnearly a ton. It is made of bianco duromarble. A marble plaque is affixed tothe pedestal and reads, “<strong>St</strong>. Joseph:To you we confide our alumnae, livingand dead.”<strong>Fall</strong> <strong>2007</strong> • 7
