Payment however doesdepend on various factors,including 100% attendance, withbonuses available if you make goodprogress and keep on track with thecourse. You may also be eligible forthe Learner Support Fund.Further information is availablefrom Student Services, the EMAhelpline is 0808 10 16219www.direct.gov.uk/emaADULT LEARNING GRANT (ALG)This is subject to financialassessment but pays up to £30 perweek for full time learners aged 19and over studying their first FullLevel 2 or Level 3 qualification. Youmay also be eligible for the LearnerSupport Fund.There are application packsavailable from Student Services.The (ALG) helpline is 0845 4560027 and the website is:www.direct.gov.uk/algDISCRETIONARY LEARNERSUPPORT FUNDThis fund is to ensure that everyonehas the opportunity to learnwithout the issues of financialproblems and is also subject tohousehold income. This can beused to help with costs for travel,books, equipment and childcare.Higher Education students mayalso be entitled to the Accessto Learning Fund.Further information is availablefrom Student Services.COURSE FEECONCESSIONSCourses that lead to a recognisedqualification are FREE for peoplewho are:• 16 -18 years old• In receipt of income-based benefits,previously known as means testedbenefits, that is:- Council Tax Benefit- Housing Benefit- Income Support- Working Tax Credit (householdincome less than £15,276)- Pension Credits(Guarantee Credit only)- Unwaged dependants of thoselisted above- Unemployed people in receipt ofcontribution-based Jobseeker’sAllowance- Offenders who are servingtheir sentence in the community- Asylum seekers and theirdependants in receipt of theequivalent of income-basedbenefit• Studying their first Full Level 2qualification (tuition fee remissiononly)• Aged 19 but not yet 25 studying theirfirst Full Level 3 qualification(tuition fee remission only)We will need to see your benefitdocuments or a recent letter ofeligibility; unfortunately we cannotaccept the UB40 booklet as evidence.Please note: Concessions do not applyto any courses COLOUR CODED BLUEand fees must be paid in full beforethe start of the course.
