HUNTSMAN WORLD SENIOR GAMES TO<br />

ADD NEW SPORTS<br />

In <strong>2008</strong> <strong>the</strong> Huntsman World Senior<br />

Games will be celebrating its 22nd anniversary.<br />

Each year about 9,500 athletes attend<br />

this 2-week event held among <strong>the</strong> beautiful<br />

red rock of sou<strong>the</strong>rn Utah in St. George. This<br />

year <strong>the</strong> Games will be adding 2 new sports:<br />

<strong>Archery</strong> & Badminton.<br />

<strong>Archery</strong> will be held in two sessions. Oct.<br />

13 - 14 will be 900 American Round Competition<br />

(each day) consisting of 90 arrow shots,<br />

30 from 60, 50 and 40 yards, respectively.<br />

Gold, Silver & Bronze medals will be presented<br />

in 5-year age groups starting with age<br />

50. Athletes meeting minimum performance<br />

standards will qualify for <strong>the</strong> 2009 Summer<br />

<strong>National</strong> Senior Games to be held at Stanford<br />

University Campus in Palo Alto, California.<br />

Five classes will be recognized:<br />

1. Recurve / with sights<br />

2. Barebow Recurve / no sights<br />

3. Compound Fingers / with sights<br />

4. Barebow Compound / no sights<br />

5. Compound Release<br />
