Decades from now, museum leaders will look back at this year as a sparkling moment of
unprecedented generosity—generosity of inspiration, time, and funds—all to benefit this
unique community treasure we know as the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
It’s through the sincere commitment of dedicated supporters that we’ve been able to build
such a vital arts resource and enduring arts legacy for our community. Thousands of
schoolchildren and individuals benefit daily from the free general admission policy that
your support helps provide.
Thank you for demonstrating your commitment to critical museum priorities:
strengthening the museum’s operations, building its world-class collection, and bringing us
closer to the $100 million goal of our Bring Art to Life Campaign.
Thank you to the many museum members, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners
who have provided generous annual support of the museum during the past fiscal year.
In particular, we wish to acknowledge the citizens of Hennepin County through the
Park Museum Fund, the Minnesota State Arts Board supported by an appropriation by
the Minnesota State Legislature, the Institute for Museum and Library Services, and the
National Endowment for the Arts.
We also acknowledge Target, which in addition to its lead gift to the Bring Art to Life
Campaign, provided exceptionally generous support for our Grand Opening festivities
and the exhibition “The Surreal Calder.”
