These members practice as independent firms delivering responsive, prompt and personalised audit, tax and business advisory services to a wide range of clients spanning every business sector. These include manufacturing, merchandising, communications, natural resources, professional and consumer services, real estate, public bodies and government, not-for-profit organisations and international trade. Through JHI, members combine a global presence with local excellence, adding the strength of a highly-regarded worldwide group of professional business advisers to the excellent level of personal service for which they are noted in their own right. Recognising the importance of communication, JHI members keep clients informed regarding work in progress, the latest taxation legislation, accounting practices and other business regulations that may affect their well-being. This is done in person and through periodic newsletters and reports, all of which help businesses anticipate potential problems and identify opportunities. HOW JHI OPERATES JHI facilitates introductions and referrals and transfers of knowledge among members, thereby enhancing their ability to offer the widest range of services, previously offered by the large, and sometimes impersonal, international accounting firms. Regional groups have been formed in the major geographical areas of Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific to provide for exchange of information on current taxation, accounting and audit practice, business incorporation and planning, and industry matters within their regions. The commitment of each member firm to international business is exemplified by its membership of JHI. JHI ranks among the world’s largest international associations of business advisers. Amongst the partners in the various member firms are individuals who are recognised as leaders in their profession, as heads of professional associations, contributors to specialist journals and speakers before business audiences. Many are also active in leadership roles in the community, state and national affairs. JHI is proud to be a member of the Forum of Firms (FoF) which promotes consistent, high-quality standards of financial reporting and auditing practices worldwide. An association of international networks of accounting firms that perform financial statement audits that are or may be used across national borders, the FoF is closely affiliated with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). Each member firm practices as an independent partnership and serves clients exclusively for its own account.
