(Health or welfare informationincludes medical, behavioural, birthday or contactdetails.) In fact, the only personal information aboutyour child in the Ultranet will be their name and schoolphotograph (unless you notify the school and requestthe photograph is not used). All other information onthe Ultranet about your child will be specific to theirlearning.In Release 1, learning information about a student canbe seen only by that student and teachers at ourschool. From the end of September, the parents/guardians of the individual student will then be able tosee this information in the way that currently operateswith the Parent Portal. This means that you can onlysee information about your own children, and teacherscan only see information about students at their ownschool.More informationIf you‟d like more information, please go towww.education.vic.gov.au/ultranet or contact the schoolon 9387 6133.Vivienne Tellefson, <strong>Principal</strong>Wine and Cheese Tasting/ Wine OrderformGirls Year 8 Soccer – ZonesAfter an impressive firstround, the girls went outto tackle the other ZONEfinalists.The competition here wasmuch stiffer.First up was Northcote – atechnically sound team -and very well organised.An early injury to Bellaunsettled the girls and leftus with no players on thebench. Our girls could notquite keep up, and werecaught out early off theblocks – we lost 3-0.Next was Lalor – the girlsOur Year 8 Soccer Girls“In Action”weren‟t caught out this time. We controlled the gamefor long spells and deserved a 1-0 victory after a greatgoal by Sally which followed some good teamwork.In the final game, we were up against Viewbank foroverall second. A very even contest throughout, thedifference being they took their chances and sealed a 2-0 win.It was truly a great effort by all of the girls.Parents are warmly invited to attend the Wine andCheese Tasting Fundraiser on Friday 27th August. Allwho attended last year‟s inaugural Wine and CheeseTasting agreed it was a highly enjoyable event and awonderful opportunity to catch up with and / or meetnew parents and staff. Last year we raised around$2,000 for the school. In 2010, we would like to betterthis effort. All funds raised will go toward two veryworthy causes, the purchase of much needed externalseating for our students and the introduction of newnetball and hockey uniforms for our girls‟ sports teams.Entry fee is $5.00 per head and this will allow you toenjoy an extensive range of wine and cheese types.Well done Isabella Contreras, Kristie Dawson,Holly Simmons, Seda Genc, Georgia Evgeniadis,Ella Fusca, Ilayda Demir, Zoe Vasilas, SallyMcBean, Victoria LiEllen Campion and Nadine Brown.Thanks again to the helpers Lina Welderfael and LarisaPalmarella.Jack TorosidisWe understand that not all parents will be available toattend the Wine and Cheese Tasting but would like tocontribute to the fundraising effort. We encourage you to support our2010 fundraising effort.Farewell to Senior Interschool Debatingfor 2010!Round 5 of the Senior Interschool Debatingcompetition was held at Mercy <strong>College</strong> on Wednesday 4August 2010. As always, the topics were challenging!Our A-Grade team finished the year with the topic that“We should ban offensive music.” Gus Holian, HollyMoore and Cornelius Pelzing, arguing for theaffirmative, found the topic very challenging given theirpassionate agreement with everything said by theopposition!
