World Crosswords<strong>Teacher</strong>s NotesThese crosswords are a fun way to supplement classroomlearning over a wide range of topics.Many of the questions require research, and answers will befound quickly on the internet.While the puzzles are aimed at mainstream students in the10-14 year age group, they are also suitable for very brightchildren under 10; equally, students 14+ will also find manyof the puzzles useful.The puzzles may be given as in-class activities (whereinternet is available) or as homework.The clues will reveal more than 500 useful pieces of generalknowledge.Completion of any one puzzle will make the student wiser andmore knowledgeable in that particular subject area;completion of all 20 will greatly enhance knowledge andunderstanding of the world in general.As incentives, teachers may wish to consider rewardingstudents in some or all of the following ways:Award for:* fastest completed crossword * neatest completed crossword* most interesting extra information found during research* most correct answers in teacher’s quiz using a particular crossword* most completed crosswords * World Quiz based on crosswords© Intelligent Australia Productions4
