The part number is completed by a unique identity numberand the specification of the contactor indicated by letter suffixes. The diagram below details the options and associated suffixeswhich are relevant to the stud contactor range. For a detailed description of options refer to the Albright Product Range Catalogue.Coil voltages ranging from 6 to 240v are available which are wound for D.C. operation. However, the majority of coils can be fittedwith a bridge rectifier for use with A.C. supplies. Coils are wound with pull-in voltages (coils at 20°C) approximately 66% of therated voltage (Continuous) or 60% (Prolonged, Intermittent Or Very Intermittent), and drop-out voltage nominally greater than 10%of the rated voltage. Variations from these pull-in and drop-out figures can be engineered to suit particular applications.Main TypeNumberV3 AuxiliaryContacts FittedSteel Shrouds fittedfor hazardousEnvironmentsFlying LeadsFittedReversedNon-polaritySensitive 3LargeContact TipsProtected to IP66Compliance 1SW80 A or C B EE E F N R - 43 L M P TCoil Ratings TerminologyContinuous (CO):• 100% duty cycle. Continuous operation. Weakest powercoil dictating that a weaker, when compared to theintermittent equivalent, return spring is used. This doesnot give the best switching characteristics for applicationsswitching frequently on load.Prolonged (PO):• Up to 90% duty cycle, up to 54 minutes continuousenergisation. Coil is more powerful than continuous, weaker than intermittent equivalent. The return spring isstronger than continuous but weaker than intermittent.AuxiliaryContactsFittedMagneticBlowoutsFittedEconomy CircuitFitted 21Specific types only, 2 SW120, SW121 & SW132 Series Only, 3 SW200 Series OnlyNo MagneticBlowouts 3PreciseIdentity NumberMagneticallyLatchedTexturedContact TipsIntermittent (INT):• Up to 70% duty cycle, up to 15 minutes continuousenergisation. High power in coil allowing strong returnspring to be used, giving good switching characteristics.Typically this rating is used with magnetic latchingcontactors.Highly Intermittent (HO):• Up to 25% duty cycle, up to 3 minutes continuousenergisation. Highest power in coil allowing strongestreturn spring to be used, giving good switchingcharacteristics.Albright International Ltd, Evingar Trading Estate, Ardglen Road, Whitchurch, Hampshire RG28 7BB, UKE-mail: sales@albrightinternational.com or technical@albrightinternational.com2 Tel: +44 (0)1256 893060, Fax: +44 (0)1256 893562 Dedicated Sales Tel: +44 (0)1256 890030, Fax: +44 (0)1256 890043Web Site: www.albrightinternational.com3
