Nearly25% of the 1,000+ students are students of color; a significant percentage of the student body receivesneed‐based tuition assistance; many graduating seniors earn recognition in the National MeritScholarship program; 100% of our graduates are accepted into four‐year colleges.The annual budget of SHS is more than $30 million and the endowment is nearly $40 million, bothgrowing rapidly in recent years and expected to continue growing as enrollment increases toward 1,200students, and as a result of the capital campaign.Summary of PositionThis is a 100% position (60% Retreat Coordinator & 40% Religious Studies Instructor) and reports to theAssistant Principal, Student Life and the Religious Studies Department Head. The Retreat Coordinatorplans and implements the senior Kairos Retreat program and facilitates a portion of the day retreatsprogram for students in 9 th and 10 th grades. The Religious Studies Instructor will be able to masterfullyteach an overview of Catholic Christianity, the Bible, and ethics.Five years of experience teaching, preferably at a high school, and a Masters Degree in Theology,Religious Studies, Education or similar field is highly preferred.Essential DutiesCommit to live out the values of the Sacred Heart education as articulated in Network of SacredHeart Schools Goals and Criteria, and to integrate them into the fabric of personal and school life.Work in conjunction with a peer Campus Ministry Associate and the Assistant Principal, StudentLife to further craft and implement the Student Retreat Vision Statement.
