Dear Cattlemen,Matt Macfarlane MarketingP.O. Box 346Sheridan, CA 95681(530) 633-4184 Office(530) 633-4201 Fax(916) 803-3113 Cellmmacfarlane@cattlemen.netwww.m3cattlemarketing.comIt is with great privilege that I help invite you to one of the best kept secrets in the California cattle business. Thefounders of Top Line Cattle, LLC., Randy, Mike and Zech, have assembled one of the soundest and most functionalAngus and Red Angus cowherds in the U.S. These cattle are run the EXACT same way most commercialcattlemen run their operations. There is no pampering and they have to earn their keep in a native Californiafoothill environment. If you have the chance to come by and see the cowherd, I think it will speak for itself. They are extremelyuniform, easy-fleshing, efficient and maternal. Bad udders do not exist here because they are culled ruthlessly. They excel in fertility and this spring alone nearly 500 cows were bred A.I. at Top Line. They bulls were never pushed too hard to damage any structural soundness, but were pushed hard enough toexpress the differences in post-weaning performance and carcass value with ultrasound. Upon completion ofthe spring yearling test they were moved from the feedlot to large irrigated pastures to help harden and developthem into breeding shape and were given minimal supplement. These bulls are truly ready to work and are inbreeding shape! The fall yearling bulls are completing their yearling evaluation as this sale book is being mailedand they will be in optimal shape for a yearling bull to go and work for a living.I have been through the cowherd and the bulls and I am impressed at what is happening at Top Line. If youhave any questions or concerns please call me and I will be glad to visit.Sincerely,Matt MacfarlaneMatt Macfarlane MarketingRanchers,It is my pleasure to share my thoughts regarding this quality offering of bulls from Top Line Cattle, LLC. You see, myhistory with the herd goes back over 20 years. Most of the Angus cows carry the Leachman prefix and were the Mott herdthat provided our Angus foundation at Leachman Cattle Company in Billings, Montana. This was the original herd where BonView New Design 1407 was first used in 1998! Most of the Angus cows carry the Leachman prefix and are the product of adisciplined selection program that focused on:• Low Birth Weight to ensure calving ease--nearly every bull will work on heifers!• Rapid early growth and solid milk for heavy weaning weights.• Breed leading carcass traits to ensure your calves or fed cattle earn top dollar.• Ideal sized cows to ensure fertility, efficiency and profitability for years to come.If these traits fit your needs, I doubt you could find a better set of Angus bulls selling anywhere in the country. When you buy cattle, the people breeding them are just as important as the genetics. The partnership of Randy Sternberg,Zech Browning and Mike Browning is a solid one. The people are honest and humble. They are not about ego or flashiness, but rather they focus on raising functional and practical cattle. In the beginning, I urged them to help the cows adapt to thelarge climatic change when they first moved to the foothills region, but they insisted that the cows had to survive on theirown. They moved the calving date back to fit the environment and the ranch. This allowed them to minimize supplementalfeed. Their results speak for themselves--I urge you to come to the ranch and see for yourself. You’ll find good uddered, gooddoing cows that breed back every year and turn pasture into great big calves. If you have any questions regarding the cattle or the program, feel free to give me a call on my cell phone at (970) 219-8519. I’ll also be at the sale and can handle sight unseen orders if you can’t make the sale.Sincerely,Lee Leachman4 • Top Line Cattle, LLC
