The minimum entry requirement is an upper<br />
second class honours degree from a British<br />
university, or from a recognised higher education<br />
institution. However, we consider a Master’s<br />
degree in an appropriate subject to be particularly<br />
valuable in preparing candidates for a research<br />
degree.<br />
Applicants who do not have English as a first<br />
language must show pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> IELTS 7.0 or<br />
equivalent in English within the application<br />
form. In some instances, applicants without<br />
this requirement may be considered if<br />
they can demonstrate appropriate alternative<br />
qualifications, pr<strong>of</strong>essional experience or<br />
previous research.<br />

BurSarieS and aWardS<br />
There are a number <strong>of</strong> bursaries available from<br />
the <strong>Arts</strong> and Humanities Research Council<br />
(AHRC) for taught postgraduate and research<br />
degrees. In addition CCW has a number <strong>of</strong><br />
other bursaries and awards that can be applied for.<br />
