supporting our school’s2009-2010 ANNUAL FUNDThe Advancement Committee,is currently under the leadershipof Donald C. Klawiter (parent ofJeffrey ’11). Here, he shares hispassion and vision for theAnnual Fund:The important thing to remember is that tuition does not cover thecost of your children’s education. The Annual Fund makes up about6 percent of the annual budget, so its success is tied directly to thesuccess of our program. I have had the privilege to address thefreshmen parents over the past two years and I have encouragedfreshmen parents to invest into O’Connell right away, so that theirgenerous giving will have the optimal personal benefit for their ownchildren. The freshman parents have supported that idea and havegiven generously.Between Thanksgiving and the end of 2009, we created a challengethat was financed by President’s Club members. Every dollardonated was matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000. It was anenormous success – the donated $119,000 became $219,000 withmany new donors. Having met the goal, President’s Club membersadded a bonus of $10,000 to the Fund.We are asking you to help us reach that goal, please remember whatan important investment it is into your children’s education. We askthat you give what you can – every dollar directly helps the studentsand no amount is too small.Thank you for your investment!Donald C.
