The pair are picturedholding the championship trophy in the photobelow.Bianca Rivera - Puerto RicoBianca Rivera’s (below) first year in Puerto Rico’s Women’s SuperiorVolleyball League was a huge success.Under the direction of Yarelis Rodriguez, the San Juan nativewas named the league’s Rookie of the Year while playing for theBayamón Vaqueras. Her team qualified for the postseason andshe finished the year ranked third in the league with 5.16 digs perset.Rivera also participated in the league’s All-Star Game.9Korie Lebeda - SpainAfter a record-setting career at Creighton from 2005-08, KorieLebeda (left) spent last winter in Murcia, Spain, where she playedfor Voley Murcia in a league called Superliga Feminina 2. Theteam is located in the southeastern part of Spain about an hourfrom the Mediterranean Sea.Lebeda got the call when Voley Murcia’s regular setter wasinjured in November, joining a team that also included playersfrom Spain, Brazil, the Canary Islands and the United States.
