In order for <strong>Gulliver</strong> <strong>Schools</strong> to succeed, it must achieve three strategic<br />

imperatives:<br />

Further develop a governance structure that effectively facilitates the<br />

schools’ goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with all appropriate<br />

laws and regulations;<br />

And, maintain and enhance a fiscally sound economic base that minimizes<br />

debt and tuition growth while maximizing advancement efforts.<br />

KEY PRIORITIES - LEARNING ENVIRONMENT<br />

Curriculum<br />

Excel in and investigate strong, competitive, academic, college-preparatory programs<br />

and courses.<br />

Integrate appropriate technological advances into the curriculum.<br />

Provide regular opportunities for instructional staff to collectively and individually<br />

research, contemplate, and improve the instructional program.<br />

Annually seek accreditation from regional public and independent accrediting<br />

agencies.<br />

Maintain and develop programs that enhance the physical, social, ethical, and moral<br />

breadth and depth of <strong>Gulliver</strong> students.<br />

Faculty and Staff<br />

Recruit and maintain a quality, motivated, and dedicated faculty, administration,<br />

and support staff.<br />

Provide professional growth opportunities for faculty, administrators, and support<br />

staff.<br />

Regularly research and make subsequent recommendations regarding compensation<br />

and other economic issues.<br />

Refine the performance evaluation instruments for administration and teaching<br />

faculty.<br />

Ensure efficient, thorough communication with entire staff regarding policies and<br />

procedures.<br />

Students and Parents<br />

Recruit, enroll, and maintain a diverse student body of college-preparatory ability.<br />

Ensure that each student receives an education commensurate with his or her<br />

unique potential.<br />

Maintain an informed, active, supportive parent group that operates within a set of<br />

approved procedures.<br />

Facilities<br />

Increase the number of state-of-the-art classrooms and educational support facilities<br />

to accommodate current and future students’ needs and best support the changing<br />

curriculum.<br />

Increase and improve the facilities presently provided for athletics and arts.<br />

Maintain <strong>Gulliver</strong>’s focus on maximizing safety and minimizing hazards.<br />

Communications and Public Relations<br />

Regularly articulate <strong>Gulliver</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>’ non-profit status, mission, and philosophy.<br />

Communicate to <strong>Gulliver</strong>’s constituency the need for financial support.<br />

Maintain a public relations campaign to publicize <strong>Gulliver</strong> accomplishments and<br />

memorialize <strong>Gulliver</strong>’s history.<br />

Strengthen and improve the timeliness and quality of all communication within<br />

<strong>Gulliver</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>.<br />

Build general awareness of <strong>Gulliver</strong>’s diverse academic programs and specialty<br />

courses (i.e. engineering, pre-law, architectural drawing).<br />

Implement an ongoing constituency satisfaction survey to students, employees,<br />

parents, and other key stakeholders to determine satisfaction levels with the<br />

“<strong>Gulliver</strong> Experience.” Create action in response to data received.<br />

KEY PRIORITIES - GOVERNANCE<br />

The Board of Trustees will support policies designed to achieve the school’s mission,<br />

philosophy, and goals.<br />

The Board of Trustees will further develop a governance structure that effectively<br />

facilitates the school’s goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with all<br />

appropriate laws and regulations.<br />

The Board of Trustees will hire and maintain a management team that has the clearly<br />

defined responsibility and authority to issue all operational policies, procedures,<br />

verbal or written, formal or informal, and to ascertain compliance with its mission<br />

and philosophy.<br />

The Board of Trustees will work with the operator of the school to develop a<br />

Management Succession Plan to ensure the ongoing success of school operations.<br />

This plan includes creating a new position, Provost, to focus on continued academic<br />

excellence at <strong>Gulliver</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>.
