He was promptlyarrested & imprisoned in the Tolbooth of Edinburgh. In August with Montrose's victory atKilsyth he was released from prison (d).1652: At Duns, Berw. He executed a deposit to John Ker agreeing to deliver the titles of the property.1653: Sir Alexander Nisbet was in Ireland where he purchased a piece of land (d).1660: After the 'restoration' Sir Alexander was in London petitioning Charles II for assistance torecover his Scottish estates. In 1662 he renewed his petition to Charles II again with moresuccess. He returned to Scotland on June 17, 1662 & the petition was presented to the Lordsof Session.
