Thosedoomed to die from snakebites could be healed by obeying God’sinstruction to look up at the elevated bronze snake and by believingthat God would heal them if they did. Similarly, our salvationhappens when we look up to Jesus, believing He will save us. Godhas provided this way for us to be healed of sin’s deadly bite (v. 13-15).RELIES ON GOD
LEADER’S NOTES32Question 5:- Belief involves intellectual agreement that Jesus is God, that we aresinners in need of a savior and that believing in Jesus alone to save usgives us new life. It involves putting Christ in charge of our presentplans and eternal destiny. It involves trusting that His words arereliable and relying on Him for the power to change and grow as afollower of Christ.-Many other verses reinforce the truth that relying on/believing inJesus and His work on the cross is essential for moving from thekingdom of darkness (ruled by Satan) and new life/eternal life (in thekingdom of God).Question 6:-It will be seen plainly, referring to fruit which will naturallyaccompany new life–fruit that reflects the love and goodness of God, and dependenceon GodQuestion 7:-Nicodemus had become a believer in Jesus Christ, evidenced by hisactions of tenderly helping Joseph prepare Jesus’ body for burial.Question 8:-On-going spiritual life from within from the Holy Spirit-Freedom from the penalty of sin-Eternal Life with God—both present and futureQuestion 9:RELIES ON GOD--Our spirits are eternal and must be reborn from sin/death into life--Going through the birth process into something radically differentand newLESSON 2: IDENTITYDiscussion Questions1.
